Asiwaju Moshood Shittu, former National Chairman of the defunct Alliance National Party and ex-Director General (North) of the Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Council under the NNPP, has urged opposition parties planning a merger for the 2027 election to align with NNPP’s national leader, Engr. Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, if they hope to defeat President Bola Tinubu.
Asiwaju Moshood Shittu made this call during a press conference.
He emphasized that only credible personalities like Kwankwaso who cuts across all facets of governance has the pedigree to move the merger Presidential flag to victory going by his wealth of experience, expertise, clean records and political followership.
“ It will therefore be wise for the opposition parties to visit Kwankwaso in order to convince him to fill in the shoes. The other President Candidates lacks moral and qualitative competence required in any candidate that must defeat and unseat the incumbent President. From security to legislature, diplomatic and grassroots governance Kwankwaso has paid his dues.
“ From deputy speaker in the IBB Ill fated third republic to Governor in 1999, defence minister, special envoy and others the record is clear for him to be the man to support.
“ I am therefore appealing to the merger team of the opposition political parties to appeal to Kwankwaso to fly the flag if election must be won and President Bola Tinubu defeated in 2027.
“ Let us not throw away credibility, value, competence and credentials as it will only spell doom for the merger. Both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi do not put together possess the credibility and experience needed for the Presidency like Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. This is the time to act in order to save our nation,” Shittu said.
