President Bola Tinubu has requested the House of Representatives to implement the new minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000 as agreed during a meeting with Organised Labour last week.
Tinubu also requested the lawmakers to expedite and legalize the passage of the minimum wage bill to ensure immediate implementation for the benefit of Nigeria workers.
In a letter on Tuesday, presented by the President which was read on the floor of the House by Speaker Rep Tajudeen Abbas also sought to reduce the period for reviewing the minimum wage from five years to three years.
