The Trade Union Congress, TUC, of Nigeria, has urged Security agencies to protect those that will be participating in the planned nationwide protest scheduled to begin from August 1.

While fielding questions from journalists after briefing on the state of the nation, the union president Comrade Festus Osifo clarified that the union was not part of the protest but it does not mean Nigerians should not participate in the protest if they wish to.

“So it is the duty of the police and all security personnel to protect them,” he added

He, however said Nigerians have the constitutional right to protest against any grievances as they are simply exercising their civic duty.
