The meeting scheduled between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been postponed from Monday to August 28, intensifying concerns over a looming strike.
A member of ASUU’s National Executive Council confirmed the new meeting date, “Our meeting with the Federal Government will now hold on August 28.” He said.
ASUU, had earlier issued a strike warning to the Federal government, after its August 19 National Executive Council meeting at the University of Ibadan, over failure to honor a 2009 renegotiated agreement,
In Response to the strike the Minister of Education Tahir Mamman acknowledging the long-standing nature of ASUU’s demands, scheduled a meeting to meet with he ASUU Executives.
