Pastor Tunde Bakare Celebrates 70th Birthday, Receives Praise from President Tinubu and Governors

President Bola Tinubu, alongside governors of Lagos and Ogun states, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dapo Abiodun, recently honored Pastor Tunde Bakare, Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, on his 70th birthday. The celebration took place at The Citadel in Lagos, where the President and governors extolled Bakare’s spiritual leadership and political vibrancy in Nigeria.

President Tinubu said, highlighting Bakare’s decades of service and dedication to principles of honesty, transparency, and fairness stated

“It gives me great joy to join you in honoring a man whose life has been an embodiment of passion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to justice and righteousness”.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described Bakare as a mentor and father figure, noting that government officials listen to his words of wisdom. “You are a vessel of God that is being used,” he said.

Governor Abiodun praised Bakare’s tireless efforts in championing social justice, peace, and national progress, saying his influence extends beyond the church to the nation at large.

The event also featured the unveiling of Bakare’s autobiography, “The Last, But Definitely Not The Least.” In his remarks, Bakare emphasized the need for Nigerians to prioritize the nation’s well-being and encouraged Christians to actively participate in governance.

Dignitaries in attendance included former governors of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun, Chief Olusegun Osoba, and Gbenga Daniel.

Representatives of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and other traditional rulers were also present.
