Prince Akeem Owoade, a Nigerian-Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist, has been approved as the new Alaafin of Oyo. This announcement was made by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, through the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade.
Prince Owoade, born 49 years ago, hails from a prominent royal family in Oyo town. He boasts an impressive educational background, having completed his secondary school education at Baptist High School, Saki, Oyo State, Nigeria, in 1992.
He furthered his studies in mechanical engineering, earning degrees from The Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, and The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Oyo State .
Prince Owoade’s professional career spans various industries, including engineering, finance, and real estate. He is the president of 100279 Manitoba Limited, a real estate investment and financial services business in Manitoba, Canada. He also holds a Project Coordinator position at Manitoba Hydro, one of Canada’s largest electric power and natural gas utility providers .
The stake holders expects that the new the Alaafin of Oyo, Prince Owoade to bring his vast experience and international exposure to bear on the development of Oyo State. His appointment has been met with enthusiasm and optimism, with stakeholders also looking forward to a new era of progressive leadership and community engagement.
