The recently concluded 2025 FCT President’s Cup has set the stage for a thrilling national showdown, as Family Worship Champions (FWC) FC, Naija Ratels FC, EFCC FC, and N-Youth Ladies Football Academy gear up to represent the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the National President’s Cup.
Following their impressive performances at the Area 3 FIFA Goal Project pitch in Abuja, the teams have not only earned regional recognition but also the backing of the FCT Football Association (FCT FA). The association’s chairman, Alhaji Adam Mouktar Mohammed, has pledged full support as they prepare to compete against top teams from across the country.
FWC FC claimed the men’s title after a tense 4-3 penalty shootout win over EFCC FC, while Naija Ratels FC dominated the women’s final with a commanding 6-0 victory over N-Youth Ladies Football Academy. Despite the contrasting scorelines, all four finalists have earned the right to compete in the national tournament’s Round of 64, a challenge that will test their resilience and tactical discipline.
Speaking on their qualification, Alhaji Mouktar commended the teams for their dedication and fighting spirit. He assured them that the FCT FA would provide the necessary support to ensure they excel on the national stage.
Mouktar said. “The Nigerian football community, especially here in the FCT, is very proud of their accomplishments. We congratulate the management of FWC, Naija Ratels, EFCC, and N-Youth Ladies Football Academy for the remarkable progress of their teams.
“Go to the round of 64 and make FCT proud! We will provide you with the support you need in every way possible. Let’s go and fight with our football artistry, and we believe that we can succeed. I charge you to remain disciplined and committed.”
Beyond the players, the FCT FA chairman also acknowledged the unwavering support of football fans, whose enthusiasm brought energy to the competition. He emphasized the role of local football supporters in inspiring teams to reach greater heights.
As the countdown to the National President’s Cup begins, the focus now shifts to preparation. With the backing of the FCT FA and the momentum from their recent triumphs, FWC FC, Naija Ratels, EFCC FC, and N-Youth Ladies Football Academy will look to make a lasting impact on the national stage.
