At Ogwa Ukwu Ahaba, a new chapter in our collective history was opened as we formally inaugurated the Technical Committee on the Creation of Anioma State , a pivotal move toward the realisation of a long-desired dream, and a significant step in advancing the Bill currently before the National Assembly, championed by our illustrious son, Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Nwoko.
It was an honour for Senator Nwoko to announce that the committee is chaired by His Royal Majesty, Obi Professor Epiphany Azinge, the Asagba of Asaba; with His Royal Majesty, Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi I, the Dein of Agbor, as Co-Chairman, and His Royal Majesty, Obuenwe Johnson Ekpech, the Ezemu of Emu, as Vice Chairman.
Special recognition goes to all the traditional rulers across Delta North, who, by virtue of natural identity and royal responsibility, are integral members of this historic committee. Their presence reaffirms that this is not just a political process, but a cultural renaissance the voice of a people aligning across generations to shape their destiny.
Let it be clearly stated and eternally recorded:
This is not the personal affair of Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Nwoko.
Rather, the ANIOMA Nation is working through him. He is the vessel the bridge through whom the collective will, cultural unification, and political aspirations of Anioma are being expressed. This is a shared mandate, a people-driven movement, and a historic call to justice and representation.
The event brought together the who’s who in ANIOMA Nation traditional leaders, political stakeholders, youth, women, and professionals all united in purpose. Deliberations were sincere, strategic, and far-reaching. Various subcommittees have been set up to steer the affairs, gather reports, and harmonise findings as we collectively prepare for the public hearing scheduled for July 4th–5th, 2025.
The work has begun with unity, clarity, and determination. This is not just about the creation of a state. It is about recognition, equity, identity, and development. It is about placing Anioma where it rightfully belongs in the Nigerian federation.
To everyone who attended and contributed to this defining moment thank you. Your presence and support have strengthened our resolve and deepened our bond.
Together, we march forward.

Together, we are ANIOMA and history will remember this path we now walk.
