A bitter legal battle has broken out within the family of the late former Oyo State Governor, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala. His first daughter, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Alao-Aderinto, has approached an Oyo State High Court in Ibadan, seeking a court order to conduct DNA tests to verify the paternity of seven individuals claiming to be her father’s biological children.

Aderinto, represented by her lawyer, Oladipo Olasope (SAN), is also requesting the exhumation of her father’s body from his Ogbomoso residence mausoleum to facilitate the DNA test.

Alao-Aderinto  said the test results should be  presented directly to the court.

” The findings should be sealed and submitted to the judge for pronouncement in open court.

The only scientific confirmation of paternity can determine rightful inheritance, insisting”.

She noted that the estate should benefit all legitimate heirs including overlooked children, aides, and close associates, and as such  DNA proof is essential.
