The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation is spearheading public sector reform in Nigeria through two key initiatives; expanded reward schemes for civil servants and digitalization of government operations.
As the Diamond Partner for the inaugural International Civil Service Conference (ICSC) in Abuja, the Foundation is driving innovation and recognition in the public sector.
During the conference, which takes place from June 25-26, 2025, the Foundation showcased its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s civil service through strategic partnerships and capacity building programs.
The efforts aims to modernize government operations, foster innovation, and recognize excellence in public service.
The Foundation, known for its commitment to building effective governance in Africa, utilized the platform to spotlight two bold new steps.
“It includes the expansion of its civil servant rewards programme under the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Endowment Fund and the acceleration of digitalisation across ministries.”
With over ₦50 million already awarded to 111 standout civil servants, the Endowment Fund is now introducing two new honors, the ₦500,000 Presidential Civil Service Merit Award and the ₦250,000 Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award.
The Executive Vice Chair of the Foundation, Ofovwe Aig- Imoukhode said
the addition reflects a broader vision: to celebrate integrity, innovation, and dedication among Nigeria’s civil servants, while encouraging a new generation of government leaders.
“This collaboration reflects our belief in the power of a world-class Civil Service to shape Africa’s future. The Foundation remains committed to building a public sector that truly delivers for all Africans.”
The Foundation noted that impact of the program extends far beyond reward.
“Over the past several years, it has worked hand-in-hand with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) on transformative projects.
These include co-developing the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP25) and launching capacity-building programmes aimed at equipping 3,000 high-impact civil servants with 21st-century leadership and management skills”.
In what observers are calling a game-changing initiative, the Foundation also played a key role in digitalising operations at the OHCSF , a pilot that has since inspired a broader wave of digital transformation across government agencies.
” Through recent Memorandums of Understanding with multiple ministries, the efforts are now being scaled nationwide.
The conference, whose theme is around innovation and reform in governance, is drawing civil service leaders from across the continent, offering a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
