Agriculture Minister Honours Buhari’s Legacy Of Discipline And Reform

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has decribed the late former President Muhammadu Buhari as a leader whose legacy of discipline and reform will continue to shape Nigeria’s governance ethos for generations.

In a solemn statement released on Monday, Senator Kyari expressed deep sorrow over Buhari’s passing and extended condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the late President’s family, and the people of Katsina State.

Reflecting on the statesman’s life, Senator Kyari highlighted Buhari’s long-standing commitment to national development, dating back to his military leadership in 1983 through to his democratic presidency from 2015 to 2023.

“President Buhari was a disciplined, principled, and patriotic Nigerian. His tenure was marked by efforts to instill integrity, accountability, and structural reforms in governance,” Kyari said.

The Agriculture Minister acknowledged Buhari’s role in initiating pivotal reforms that laid the foundation for long-term national development, particularly in areas such as food security, infrastructure, and anti-corruption.

Senator Kyari concluded his tribute with prayers, asking Allah (SWT) to forgive Buhari’s shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari passed away in London on Sunday, July 13, 2025. His burial is scheduled to take place in his hometown, Daura, on Tuesday.
