Lagos State Police Command’s Explosives Ordnance Disposal – Chemical, Biological, Radiological & Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit will carry out a controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) simulation at Eko Atlantic City on Thursday, August 28,2025
This exercise aims to bolster the force’s preparedness for bomb related emergencies.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin stated that the drill is designed to enhance the force’s readiness and response to bomb-related emergencies. The exercise will involve controlled detonations managed by specialized officers.
Hundeyin urges residents, workers, and visitors around Eko Atlantic to remain calm and continue their activities without panic.
“Members of the public are hereby notified that blast sounds will be heard during the exercise, but there will be no shrapnel or associated danger,” Hundeyin explained.
The command assured that adequate safety measures are in place to protect lives and property. Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh appealed for public cooperation and emphasized that the exercise reflects the police’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Lagosians.
“The Command has put adequate safety measures in place to ensure the exercise is conducted without risk to lives or property,” Hundeyin added.
This simulation is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the preparedness and response capacity of the police in the event of bomb-related emergencies.
