The Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Adewole Adebayo, has warned that President Bola Tinubu should not be surprised if Nigerians vote him out in 2027, arguing that citizens have endured enough hardships under his administration.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Adebayo criticized the current government’s policies, saying they have failed to address key issues facing the country.
“So I don’t think that if things remain the way they are in 2027, President Tinubu, in good conscience, should be surprised if he’s massively voted out. Nigerians have suffered enough. His policies are not working,” Adebayo said.
He added that Nigerians have choices and emphasized that the competitiveness of the next election will depend on improvements in macroeconomic stability, security, poverty reduction, and employment.
“But the way it is now, I don’t think that for the good of the countryeven for the good of the president himself, he should just go home and thank God that he’s been president for four years,” he stated.
