Veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, is mourning the tragic death of her only son, Ayomikun Oluwanisola, who passed away at the age of 24. The news, which has thrown the Yoruba movie industry into mourning, was first shared by popular actor Odunlade Adekola on social media.
Ayomikun, who recently completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, was described as a vibrant and promising young man. His sudden death has left colleagues, friends, and fans heartbroken, with tributes pouring in from across the Nollywood community.
Breaking the news, Odunlade Adekola wrote: “This is a big loss. God will console you ma and the whole family. E le yi po oo.”
Joining in the mourning, actor Femi Adebayo said the news was too heavy to bear: “Life has written a line too heavy for the stageToday, we mourn with our dear elder, a thespian whose heart now carries the weight no mother should bear. My thoughts and prayers are with you ma. May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus.”
Actor Kunle Afod also expressed his pain: “Hmmmm. My heart has been very heavy.”
Similarly, actress Biola Adebayo described the incident as devastating: “This is a big loss. This is devastating and heartbreaking. This is tragic. May God Almighty comfort Mummy Peju Ogunmola who just lost her only child.”
While details of the circumstances surrounding Ayomikun’s passing remain unclear, the shock has been deeply felt within the industry.
