The winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, is set to establish a foundation dedicated to supporting the girl child, describing it as a long-held dream inspired by her personal experiences growing up.
Imisi disclosed this after receiving a ₦2 million cheque from BetKing, following a task she won during her time in the Big Brother house.
Expressing her gratitude, she said “I am overwhelmed; I am happy and grateful. I feel good, excited, and delighted seeing all these working in my favour.
“As a lady, I know what it was growing up. So, for me, I would like to do something for the girl child. I am not clear yet, but something like a foundation for the girl child, because that has always been my desire, and I think I really want to do that.”
Things are still looking like a dream to me now, but I really want to do that. While growing up as a girl child, it was a very dramatic time for me.”
She added that although she has been an actress for some time, her participation in Big Brother Naija provided her with the exposure she needed to reach a wider audience.
At the cheque presentation ceremony, Head of Marketing at BetKing, Nengi Akinola, explained the company’s collaboration with Big Brother Naija and the motivation behind the cash prize.
According to Akinola, BetKing introduced a series of exclusive games during the season, including Danfo Lagos inspired by the iconic Lagos transport buses, JJ Ball X a collaboration with football legend Jay-Jay Okocha, and Film House, featuring a female character striving to cash out through various challenges.
“We had certain exclusive games that we wanted to showcase to an entertainment audience, and Big Brother provided us the opportunity to reach those audiences. This is our first time collaborating with Big Brother,” Akinola stated.
