The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced the commencement of the second phase of its load management exercise, which is expected to affect power supply in parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and surrounding areas.
According to a statement released by AEDC, the exercise is necessitated by the ongoing road construction by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) on the 132kV Gwagwalada-Kukwaba-Apo Line 2.
The second phase of the exercise will run from Thursday, November 6, to Sunday, November 9, 2025, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily.
“It may cause temporary power interruptions in areas including Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, Idu Industrial Area, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Jikwoyi, Ado, Keffi, Nasarawa Toto, Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, and surrounding areas.”
AEDC apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates customers’ understanding, stating that the exercise is essential to support FCDA’s road expansion work and ensure long-term network stability .
