The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, in collaboration with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and Coronation Group, has launched a digital upskilling programme aimed at equipping 500 civil servants with essential digital skills.
According to a statement issued by the Foundation, the beneficiaries were selected from the Federal Ministry of Justice, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
The participants, drawn from both directorate and mid-level cadres, will undergo hands-on training in digital collaboration tools, document management, and workflow automation.
The initiative is designed to support the Federal Government’s drive toward a more efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused Civil Service.
It seeks to address outdated administrative processes and limited digital proficiency by preparing civil servants to adopt technology-driven systems that enhance data usage, automation, and decision-making for improved public service delivery.
The training will focus on four key areas: Microsoft Office productivity tools, cloud collaboration and communication, enterprise systems, and digital workplace readiness.
“Training on Microsoft Office applications will sharpen administrative and documentation accuracy, while the cloud collaboration module will promote teamwork and agility across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
” Through Enterprise Content Management (ECMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, participants will learn to automate workflows, improve data accessibility, and deliver faster, more responsive services to citizens.
“Beyond technology adoption, the initiative represents a shift towards smarter governance, one where data-driven insights inform policy, transparency rebuilds public trust, and responsive service delivery improves citizens’ daily lives.
“By equipping civil servants with 21st-century digital skills, this training helps lay the foundation for a government that is not only efficient but also inclusive, accountable, and capable of delivering measurable impact for every Nigerian,” the statement reads in part.
Executive Vice-Chair of the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation, Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede, emphasized the importance of the intervention, stating that digitalisation is central to building a modern and citizen-centred Civil Service.
She noted that the programme aligns with the Federal Government’s digitalisation agenda, including the rollout of the Enterprise Content Management System under the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2025 (FCSSIP25).
Wole Onasanya, Group Chief Executive Officer of Coronation Group, highlighted the private sector’s interest in supporting an efficient public service.
He stated that the initiative would strengthen governance, boost investor confidence, and contribute to sustainable economic development.
Delivered by the Wootlab Foundation in Abuja, the training reinforces the Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation’s mission to drive public sector reform through digital innovation and complements Coronation Group’s sustainability agenda focused on social impact, inclusion, and good governance.
“Together with the Ohcsf, both organisations are demonstrating how cross-sector collaboration can accelerate reform and build a world-class, digitally enabled Civil Service for sustainable national development,” the statement added
