The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has advised corps members not to abandon the national service scheme for any reason.
General Nafiu gave the charge while addressing the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream One corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camps in Ogun and Oyo states.
He urged them to remain committed to contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
He commended the corps members for answering the nation’s call to service and stressed the importance of prudent financial management, noting that it would be beneficial during and after the service year.
The NYSC boss also urged them to respect the cultures and traditions of their host communities and to conduct themselves responsibly at all times.
“When you are posted to your place of primary assignment, respect their rules, be punctual, be resourceful, and learn the culture of the organisation you are posted to,” he said.
