President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has launched the scale-up of the Nigeria for Women Programme, introducing the Happy Woman App Platform, a secure digital interface designed to connect women to finance, skills, markets, essential services, and government support.
The President also announced the expansion of the programme to reach 25 million beneficiaries nationwide, building on the success of its pilot phase in six states, which impacted over one million women.
President Tinubu, who was represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, during the launch at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, stressed that sustainable national growth is impossible without placing women at the centre of development planning.
He warned that marginalising women poses a serious risk to national stability, noting that his administration has deliberately positioned women at the forefront of decision-making and leadership across critical sectors.
“A nation that relegates its women is a nation bound for implosion. That is why this administration has not only placed women at the forefront of decision-making but has also entrusted them with leadership in causes that redeem our national promise,” he said.
President Tinubu further noted that women remain central to Nigeria’s development, family stability, community resilience, and overall national productivity, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing women’s economic inclusion and empowerment.
