President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said Nigeria is beginning to see the benefits of the economic reforms introduced by his administration, despite the hardship experienced by many citizens.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message ahead of the Sallah celebration, the Nigerian leader said the tough decisions taken over the past three years were necessary to stabilise the economy and position the country for long-term growth.
Tinubu noted that measures such as the removal of petrol subsidy and reforms in the foreign exchange market were already attracting investment and creating opportunities for economic expansion.
According to him, the difficult period Nigerians endured is gradually coming to an end as signs of economic recovery emerge.
“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the president stated, while commending Nigerians for their patience and sacrifices.
The president maintained that his government remains focused on building a stronger economy capable of creating jobs and improving living conditions across the country.
Tinubu also addressed the country’s security situation, admitting that terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings remain major concerns despite ongoing military operations.
He assured affected communities that the government would continue efforts to eliminate criminal groups threatening peace and stability nationwide.
The president further urged Nigerians to embrace unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, while encouraging support for vulnerable people during the festive season.
