The President Election Petition Tribunal has dismissed the case against Labour Party Presidential candidates, Peter Obi’s nomination and the allegation of drugs and certificate against All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu as no issue.
According to the Tribunal, “The Issue Of Nomination Is A Pre Election Matter ” .
The President Election Petition Tribunal also ruled that Tinubu’s Chicago records, forfeiture of money also pre – election issues, adding that the tribunal will only consider compliance / non compliance with the Electoral Act.
It is being re-established that in matters relating to nomination of candidates by a political party, candidates of other parties should be on-lookers.
If it is somehow established that it may undermine their interests, which is now a figment of hyperactive imagination, they are at liberty to approach the High Court before the commencement of the election…… If they fail to do so and bring their troubles to the tribunal, it is an exercise in futility.
