Nigeria’s representative at the 2026 Miss World pageant, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has secured a place in the Top 40 after winning the Africa Top Model title in Vietnam.
The 26-year-old emerged as Africa’s winner at the Top Model competition held on Thursday during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage.”
Karibi-George defeated contestants from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to claim the continental title.
The Miss World Organisation announced the regional winners on Instagram, naming Nigeria, the Dominican Republic, France and Vietnam as winners for Africa, the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania respectively.
The four continental Top Model winners automatically earned places in the Top 40 quarterfinals, with 10 contestants expected to qualify from each region.
The regional winners will continue competing for the overall Top Model title, with the eventual winner earning a direct place in the Top 20.
Other contestants will compete for the remaining Top 40 slots through fast-track categories including People’s Choice, Beauty With a Purpose, Head-to-Head and Multimedia.
Karibi-George had earlier represented Nigeria in the Head-to-Head Challenge, reaching the African finals before South Africa’s Romanda Hombir won the regional round and secured a Top 40 spot.
