The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has hailed Corps Members that served as ad-hoc staff during the governorship elections in Kogi, Imo and Bayelsa States for their selfless services and patriotic spirit in contributing to the development of democracy in Nigeria.
While monitoring the Corps Members on election duties in some local governments areas within Kogi State, the DG commended the Corps members for their strict compliance with the electoral laws.
Reports from NYSC officials in Imo and Bayelsa States on the performances of Corps Members on election duties also revealed their total compliance with the laid down rules and regulations.
Speaking further, Ahmed stated that the security and welfare of Corps Members remain topmost priority of his administration.
In a statement signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, General Ahmed appealed to security agencies to ensure that all Corps Members that participated in the election are escorted to their different RAC centers in good time.
Appreciating the NYSC boss, at Lokoja Local Government Secretariat, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja and other polling centres where he made on-the-spot assessment of the election, the Corps Members applauded the Scheme for giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to national development.
