The Federal Government has announced January 7, 2024 as the end of free rides for commuters on all train services.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu announced free train ride during the Yuletide season and The Nigerian Railway Corporation announced the commencement of the free train ride on Thursday, December 21, 2023which Thursday, December 21, 2023 for all its passenger services.
This followed the announcement by the Federal Government of 50 per cent waiver on interstate round transport and free train rides as part of moves to cushion the impact of the high cost of living in the country, especially during Yuletide.
