The Minister of Mines and Steel Development Shuaibu Abubakar Audu said that his team will bring in excess of 10$bn into the economy, and also create 500,000 00 (Five hundred Thousands ) direct and indirect jobs for Nigerians.
He also added the Federal government will be involving indigenous companies in the process to re-assure them of the present administrations commitment to help their business grow .
He also revealed the Federal government’s commitment to revive the Ajaokuta Steel complex within a three years old road Map.
The Minister disclosed this during an interaction session with media practitioners.
“As part of efforts to revive the Ajaokuta Steel complex, the ministry will involve people with technical content to get the job done that would yield immediate success.
Am very sure that the steel industrial revolution will impact Nigeria.”
He disclosed that the steel industry have really been suffering since independence more than 60 years ago.
“The Ajaokuta steel plant was set up on an avenue of industrialization for Nigeria for more than forty five years ago, and it has hit the brick wall”.
The Honorable Minister visited China with Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru, to determine how they can collaborate with the Chinese government to rebuild the industry, which will cost a total of 40 billion naira with about 15, 000 hectares of land .
He praised President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his New Hope agenda, which include industrial revolution, stating that most developed countries went through some challenges before becoming great.
