DRTS DD Operations defies Permanent Secretary’s order, holds grip of office as protest is imminent in DRTS by aggrieved staff.
“Deborah Osho can never act in this directorate over our dead body,” says officers of the FCT DRTS under condition of anonymity.
In their letter to the Traffic Transparency Initiative Coordinator, Eke Nnamdi, many officers from level 14 downward, who form the workforce both at the Area Commands and Headquarters, said the atrocities of Deborah, which range from high handedness to administrative corruption, brought the directorate to disrepute.
She is not disciplined and lacks the knowledge of the job. She was in FCT Universal Basic Education Board before being posted to FCT DRTS, and that alone exposes her incompetence and lack of expertise in traffic management and transportation generally.
The immediate past director, after handing over to her, put her in jeopardy as she lacks support of DRTS officers and men. Above all, it is alleged that she had bribed the late FCT Head of Service to make her director. After the demise of the latter, she is now boasting of the Chief Security Officer to the FCT Minister.
The issues here are: who is a Chief Security Officer posted to only protect the FCT Minister to interfere in serious administrative matters? If at all it is true, then the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike must take action.
The Permanent Secretary is the Chief Administrative Officer in the Transportation Secretariat and not the Mandate Secretary. If no one tells the Mandate Secretary, then he needed to be tutored. He created the problem from onset by supporting the choice of Deborah Osho.
The FCT Minister should immediately intervene.
