The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Basin Development Authority, Chief Ebitimi Amgbare, have said through agriculture Niger Delta can sufficiently feed Nigeria.
Amgbare disclosed this at the recent Niger Delta International Festival and Expo/Economic Summit in Abuja.
In a statement by his Special Assistant, Mr Isaac Ombe revealed on Friday in Yenagoa, the managing director said collaborations are fundamental to unlocking the agricultural potential of the Niger Delta region.
According to the Managing Director, since assuming office as the head of the NDBDA under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the key focus has been on “Collaboration.”
He said: “I am here to explore the possibilities of progress in the Niger Delta region, particularly concerning agriculture.
“As the Managing Director, I can assure you that the Niger Delta can sufficiently feed Nigeria.
“There is no need to import fish; we can supply fish to the entire country.”
Speaking further, Amgbare also expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event for offering a partnership opportunity and applaud the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Abubakar Momoh, for hisl role in making the program a success.
