The Osun State Police Command has arrested seven suspects, including two mortuary attendants,Johnson Daniel, 43, and Adetunji Okunade, 42 for allegedly selling human parts and water used to bathe corpses.
The acting Police Public Relations Officer,Emmanuel Giwa-Alade disclosed this in a statement.
He said the : “The suspects use these remains for different ritual purposes.”A search of the suspects’ residences uncovered fragments of substances suspected to be human skulls, a female pant, and a notebook with ritual instructions.
Additionally, three individuals – Oluwafemi Fagbuyi, Joy Faseyiku, and Alabede Janet – were arrested for promoting the Yoruba Nation movement, urging traders to renounce their allegiance to Nigeria.
“We have transferred the cases to the State Criminal Investigation Department and charged the suspects to the Federal High Court,” Giwa-Alade concluded.
