The Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission, NUC, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed has announced his resignation from the commission after serving for seven years.
Abubakar made the announcement after approval of the Kogi State University, located in Kabba, Kogi West Senatorial zone, as the third university in the state and the 62nd state university in Nigeria, in Abuja.
He said his resignation would allow him to retire to his lecturing job at the Bayero University in Kano, from where he was appointed, after spending seven years in the commission.
Professor Rasheed from June 30th will stop being the Executive Secretary of NUC. He assumed the office in 2016,and took over from Chiedu Mafiana.
