Nollywood actress Jumoke George has been reunited with her daughter, Adeola, who had been missing for four years. The news was confirmed by Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), who announced Adeola’s safe return from Mali.
Details surrounding Adeola’s disappearance and eventual return remain limited. However, her case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Nigerians abroad, particularly concerning irregular migration and human trafficking.
In recent statements, Dabiri-Erewa has emphasized the dangers of migrating to countries with fewer opportunities than Nigeria. She noted that some Nigerians, after being repatriated from challenging situations abroad, have unfortunately returned to those same conditions.
“We appeal to Nigerians to be cautious and make informed decisions about migration,” Dabiri-Erewa stated. “The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.”
Jumoke George, known for her roles in Yoruba cinema, has previously spoken about personal challenges, including family estrangement and hardships during her upbringing.
The reunion with her daughter marks a significant and emotional milestone in her personal life.
