Singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, has firmly distanced his current legal battle from previous artist-management fallouts, as tensions rise in his court case against his elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
Amid a legal dispute involving allegations of royalty diversion, Peter Okoye has emphasized the uniqueness of his situation, stating
“Exactly what I was talking about, their publicist doing everything for me to look like a liar. I am not MayD or Cynthia Morgan; I am PETER OKOYE, the one and only THE ROCK/OKWUTE of the Okoyes. The truth shall surely prevail.”
Jude Okoye has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly diverting over $1 million and £34,537.59 in royalties through Northside Music Limited without Peter’s consent.
Peter also revealed:
“Only to find out that I was actually used in the whole November 2021 reunion! But since we are in court, I will wait for the right time to tell what really went down.”
The singer continues to express the emotional and psychological toll of years of unresolved issues, stressing the importance of transparency, justice, and mental health even when family is involved.
Reacting to Peter Okoye’s recent comments, singer Cynthia Morgan expressed disappointment at being drawn into the controversy, stating she has “mixed feelings” about her name being mentioned.
“I have mixed feelings about my name popping up like this. I am not a weak person,” she wrote.
Morgan went further to suggest that even Peter once misunderstood her struggles, saying, “Certain family members made it look so… you @peterpsquare included, until you found out what they were doing to you too. Na me listen to una sha.”
