In a bold move to modernize governance, the Federal Government has directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to fully digitize operations and eliminate paper-based workflows by December31,2025.
This directive, announced by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, aligns with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021–2025 (FCSSIP25). The plan emphasizes digital transformation, enhanced performance management, and efficient service delivery across MDAs.
Walson-Jack highlighted that the Office of the HCSF had already transitioned to a paperless system before her tenure, stating, “We are fast-tracking the implementation of digitalization, one of the core pillars of FCSSIP 25. This isn’t just a directive we’ve already done it. Now we expect all MDAs to follow suit.”
To expedite this transition, “War Rooms” have been established for each of the six pillars of FCSSIP 25, serving as strategy centers to ensure timely and coordinated implementation of reforms.
These efforts aim to foster a more accountable, efficient, and transparent civil service, ultimately improving public service delivery and aligning with global best practices.
