Akin Olowokere, the newly appointed assistant coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), tragically collapsed and died during a training session on Monday morning in Ijebu-Ode.
Olowokere, a former player for Sunshine Stars of Akure, had recently joined the coaching staff of 3SC following the club’s restructuring. His sudden death has sent shockwaves through the Nigerian football community.
Eyewitnesses reported that Olowokere collapsed on the pitch during the team’s morning training session and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to”, he stated.
As of now, the cause of his death has not been officially disclosed. The club and fans mourn the loss of a dedicated coach and former player.
