The Arewa renaissance group has appealed to the inspector general of police to sanction the police officers investigating a case involving a former special duties minister Tanimu Turaki SAN led by a deputy commissioner of police in charge of gender over what the coordinator of the group Usman Abba described as their poor investigation, alleged compromise and hurried nature of the investigation which clearly exposed external interference from a perceived enemy of the accused.
Policing is suppose to be with neutrality, conscience and fairness but from all indications the dcp incharge and other officers have taken side which disqualified them.
Take example of a DNA agreed and carried but result not shown to the accused but made available to the petitioners and they posted it online against the ethics.
We therefore urge the IG in fairness to sanction the dcp and her team for that. It could also be recalled that the IG had earlier asked for the takeover of the case by DFI which the dcp defied for reasons best known to her.
