The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Muyi Aina, has charged the newly recruited staff of the Agency’s Leadership Development Academy (LDA) to embrace self-development.
He assured them that the agency will provide the necessary skills and tools to enable them perform effectively and contribute to strengthening primary healthcare in Nigeria.
Dr. Aina gave the charge during his visit to the 126 new recruits currently undergoing training.
He noted that their engagement reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on job creation, describing their recruitment as part of the dividends of democracy.
The Executive Director urged the trainees to appreciate the President’s commitment to empowering Nigerians through employment opportunities.
Speaking earlier at the official flag-off of the onboarding programme on Monday, Dr. Aina said the recruits were joining the Agency “at a unique moment in Nigeria’s primary health journey.”
Dr. Aina said President Tinubu is deeply committed to addressing long-standing challenges in the health sector.
“The government, under President Bola Tinubu, has given you a platform to make an impact, serve your country, and advance your careers. But your success depends on the choices you make, the effort you put in, and the values you uphold,” he told the trainees.
The NPHCDA Leadership Development Academy was established 2019 as a long-term measure to institute an in-house system to continually build the leadership and management skills of mid-level staff for effective performance and delivery of Technical Assistance to States. It has trained four cohorts of new employees and graduated 55 Fellows in two cohorts.
