President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the families of victims, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital Plc, and the United Bank for Africa (UBA) over Tuesday’s fire outbreak at Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
The fire, which broke out on Tuesday, claimed the lives of ten staff members of the FIRS and United Capital Plc.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President expressed deep sorrow over the incident and urged organisations to prioritize caution, training, and vigilance to prevent future emergencies.
Tinubu also extended condolences to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, FIRS, United Capital, and UBA, as well as to the bereaved families and the injured currently receiving medical treatment.
The President commended emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, first aiders, medical personnel, and members of the public, for their swift intervention and sense of responsibility during the evacuation.
