Afrobeats star Davido has announced a two-month break from music to campaign for the re-election of Ademola Adeleke ahead of the 2026 governorship poll in Osun State.
He made the announcement on Tuesday in Ede during the inauguration of the Imole Youth Campaign Mobilisation Team, where he also serves as chairman.
According to him, the decision was driven by a need to boost grassroots mobilisation, particularly among young voters, in support of the governor’s second-term ambition.
“I have put my musical career on hold for two months to come and work for my uncle, not only because he is my uncle but because he is doing a good job and still has more to accomplish,” he said. “The job is not done.”
He described the youth mobilisation team as a critical arm of the campaign, noting that its focus on young people could influence the outcome of the election.
“We are all here to support him to win the election with our influence. This is one of the most important committees because it focuses on youths,” Davido added.
