The Transport Transparency Initiative has condemned an emanating sponsored negative propaganda pointing to the direction that number plates have become scarce in FCT.
TTI North Central Coordinator Adebayo Olaniyi emphasised that since the inception of the incumbent Director, Abubakar Yaldu, many motorists have been able to pick numbers online unhindered and without obstacles, when compared to the past.
“Criticisms, we believe, are emanating from some ungrateful internal staff who have made number plates business more relevant than why they were employed by the FCT.”
“It is a known fact that since the halting of the operations of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services, many officers resorted to the processing of number plates in order to meet up with other needs, which itself is unfortunate.”
“At this point in time, we must implore some aggrieved critics to understand what it takes to break a jinx and cartel, which the director has done.”
“We urge the FCT Minister to ignore the call and antics of detractors. They did the same thing to the immediate past DRTS Director and even if an angel is brought from heaven, detractors will still complain.”
Our group is calling for the immediate establishment of a number plates production plant in FCT to meet up with demand.
