The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), representing 81.50 per cent of registered voters in Osun State, have been collected ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
The commission disclosed this in a statement, noting that the state has a total of 2,339,233 registered voters.
INEC said 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent of the registered voter population, remained uncollected.
According to the commission, the uncollected PVCs have been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in line with its established procedure.
The electoral body also revealed that 6,101 voters who applied for replacement of lost, damaged or defaced PVCs successfully printed downloadable copies of their voter cards.
INEC said it had published a polling unit-by-polling unit breakdown of the collected PVCs on its official website to provide greater transparency ahead of the election.
The commission assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and voters in Osun State of its readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive governorship election on August 15, 2026.
