The Africa Health Budget Network Coordinator Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba has announced a commitment of One Million Naira as a take-off grant for the new innovative financing mechanism ‘Emergency and Health Hazards Trust Fund’ for Association of Nigeria Health Journalists(ANHEJ) in Abuja
He made the disclosure at the congress meeting of the Association of Nigeria Health Journalists in Abuja.
According to Dr Magashi, AHBN has paid the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only (N 250,000) to ANHeJ dedicated bank account .
“The Trust Fund will support health journalists in line of duties with respect to emergency and health hazards.
Emergency challenges such as physical injuries, mental injuries, assault, theft, and flooding”, he added.
He urged other philanthropists to key into the joint initiative and support health journalists in Nigeria to function and deliver on their mandate.
