The Publisher of Newsday Newspaper, Chief Edet Isong, said that he is in support of the removal of fuel subsidy by the new President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said that fuel subsidy is a scam, and it is being used by cabals to extort money from the government.
“I am in support of the removal of the fuel subsidy by Mr President, during his campaign, he promised that he was going to remove fuel subsidy.
Fuel subsidy is being enjoyed by just few cabals, who are creating problem for this country”, he said.
In his words” Please let us support Mr President. Atiku Abubakar during his campaign, said if he becomes the president, he will remove fuel subsidy, that it was a fraud.”
“Peter Obi, said the same thing, it is not a new thing, it is for the interest of the country. Please, am calling on Nigeria Labour Congress to support Mr president on fuel subsidy removal.
Do not allow anybody to push you to go on any strike, it will not be for the interest of the country”.
