AMML management terminates Abubakar Faruk’s appointment as CEO

The Management of Abuja Markets Management Limited(AMML) has informed the general public that the services of Abubakar Usman Faruk is no longer required as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Organization.

The Chairman of Abuja Markets Management Limited, Abubakar Maina Sadiq, in a statement signed on behalf of Shareholders of the organisation made the announcement while briefing Journalists.
The statement which was addressed to Mr Faruk is as follows “We write to inform you that your services as Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of Abuja Markets Management Limited( AMML) are no longer required. Your appointment as the Chief Executive Officer / Managing Director of AMML is therefore terminated with effect from July 17th, 2023.
” Accordingly, kindly hand over all properties and items belonging to AMML to the company with immediate effect from the date of receipt of the letter.
“Your one month salary in lieu of the notice as well as other benefits and emoluments as per your letter of appointment shall be paid upon your evacuation of office, and return of all properties of AMML.”
The body further noted that the termination of Mr Faruk as CEO /MD of AMML does not affect his status as the Director of the Company.

The new Acting Managing Director of
Abuja Markets Management Limited,
 (AMML), Engineer Abbas Yakubu said the shareholders had an extraordinaire meeting and terminated the appointment of Abubakar Yusuf.
According to him,  Abubakar has been in office since 2009 and had stayed 15 years in office.
“He wants to make the office his own. The company is owned by the government, Abuja Investment and FCT. He is not the owner and wants to be the life MD”, he said.
