Amotekun Corps Arrests 27 Suspects in Ondo State

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as the Amotekun Corps, has arrested 27 persons in connection with various crimes, including kidnapping, stealing, murder, and burglary. The suspects were paraded at the corps’ headquarters in Akure, the state capital, on Tuesday.

“Ondo State is peaceful and community-friendly, investment-friendly, and farmers are encouraged to go to their farms,” stated Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, State Commander of the Amotekun Corps .

According to Adeleye, the suspects were arrested at different locations across the state. “Today, we have a total of 27 suspects on parade. In the last two weeks across the state, on law and order, that is breaking of law and order, we have 27 suspects,” he said .

Some of the suspects are ,A 30-year-old man, who engaged in malicious damage, cultism, and attempted murder of law enforcement agents

Gbenro, 42, who attacked Amotekun officers to cover his nefarious activities

Samuel Peter, 21,who attempted murder

Akimade Friday,who murdered a 65-year-old man

Segun Owolabi, 20,who stole motorcycles and robbed rightful owners .

The commander noted that aside from a few kidnapping cases at the borders, the entire 18 Local Government Areas are at peace. However, he attributed the rise in house-breaking cases to the harsh economic situation in the country .

“Generally, I want to place it on record that Ondo State is peaceful and community-friendly, investment-friendly, and farmers are encouraged to go to their farms as the Amotekun rangers are already in the farms across the state, especially in the Government Forest Reserves to ensure that there are no infringements”he stated .
