Babangida’s appointment to BOA Chairmanship to boost loan access for small scale farmers

 Salihu Dantata Mahmud,a former Abuja bureau chief of Jakande’s daily news and former Private personal assistant has described the appointment of Alhaji Mohammed Babangida by the Tinubu administration as the chairman of the Bank of Agriculture as a step in the right direction.

 “This is a great development at this point in time where local farmers cannot access loans without stringent conditions. It is on record that the administration of Mohammed Babangida’s father improved the lives of local farmers through the setting up of agricultural development projects across Nigeria and the national agency for lands (NALDA).

” Appointing his heir apparent will further sustain this noble idea in the agricultural sector. At his level,there is nothing he has not seen and possess all the qualities to oversee the affairs of the bank as chairman of the board.

“I have known Mohammed Babangida since 1996, and he has been successful in all his businesses of endeavour”.

He  lauded President Bola Tinubu for the gesture which has demonstrated his desire to bring expertise to the management of sensitive government financial institutions in the country. 

“He established Profile security in the nineties which has strived beyond expectations. His private sector experience will come to bear in his new task.” 

Salihu also  implored Alhaji Mohammed Babangida to open avenue for farmer response platform so as  to have feed back on activities of the bank, and also open branches in agricultural dominated communities to boost agriculture.
