The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended former President Muhammadu Buhari for reaffirming his loyalty to the party.
This comes after Buhari stated that, “I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularize the party by all means”.
The APC praised Buhari for swiftly clearing the air and distancing himself from efforts by certain individuals to associate him with their political choices.
The party urged its members to emulate Buhari’s example of loyalty and commitment.
Buhari’s reaffirmation of loyalty comes amid growing discontent within the party, following the recent resignation of former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai.
He had claimed that Buhari gave him his blessings and prayed for him after sharing his defection plan, but Buhari’s media aide denied this claim .
Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, commended Buhari for reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, stating that it contradicts El-Rufai’s claim that Buhari supported his recent move to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) .
