As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to commemorate the 2025 Children’s Day, the Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has called for intensified efforts in addressing the challenges hindering the development and rights of children in the country.
The organization stated this in a statement to mark the occasion.
The founder of the foundation, Captain Caleb Danladi Bako, expressed concern over the plight of many Nigerian children who continue to face serious challenges such as lack of access to quality education, poverty, and limited opportunities for growth.
As part of its activities to mark Children’s Day, the foundation announced plans to launch a campaign to raise awareness on the dangers of the growing number of out-of-school children. Captain Danladi warned that these children are more vulnerable to exploitation, child labor, and a future devoid of meaningful opportunities.
He emphasized the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education as a strategic tool for empowering young minds.
According to him, the foundation’s STEM initiatives aim to equip children with the skills and knowledge necessary to compete in the global economy and drive innovation.
“Education is key to unlocking children’s potential,” he said, adding that the foundation is committed to providing educational support, including scholarships, mentorship programs, and access to learning materials.
Captain Danladi also revealed that the foundation will expand its operations across all parts of Kaduna State. New initiatives such as digital literacy programs and vocational training will also be introduced to further empower children and help tackle emerging developmental challenges.
He called on Individuals, organizations, and government bodies to increase investments in children, stressing that doing so is critical to building a brighter future for Nigeria.
Captain Danladi reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children in Kaduna State. He noted that this year’s theme, “Children: Our Future and Our Responsibility,” aligns closely with the foundation’s mission to support and create opportunities for children to thrive.
