The Aig-Imoukhuede Foundation has demonstrated its commitment to promoting excellence in public service by sponsoring 16 out of 21 awards given at the 2025 Federal Civil Service Rewards and Recognition Award Ceremony at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.
The foundation also received an award for its longstanding partnership with the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. This recognition highlights the foundation’s efforts to support and recognize outstanding civil servants who are driving positive change and transformation in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, emphasized the need for civil servants to uphold the virtue of integrity and strive for excellence in their work.
Jack congratulated the awardees, noting that their achievements were a testament to the potential of the civil service to drive positive change and transformation.
The Head of the Civil Service also had a message for those who did not receive awards, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence and to take pride in their work.
” Recognition may take time, but it will come.Do not give up because excellence is never wasted. Let this moment challenge us all to dig deeper, aim higher, and commit more boldly to the values that define true service. The charge is simple, do your work so well that it cannot be ignored.”
Jack urged all civil servants to do their work with excellence, integrity, and dedication, and to strive for transformation in their daily work.
She emphasized that the future of public service is not just about policies, but about people, and that every civil servant has a role to play in shaping the future of Nigeria.
“Every civil servant has the potential to make a meaningful contribution to the development of the country.”
The Permanent Secretary and Chairman of the Service-Wide Awards Selection Committee (SWASCo), Mrs Patience Oyekunle also emphasized the importance of excellence, integrity, and dedication in the Federal Civil Service.
She acknowledged the visionary leadership of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, mni, in institutionalizing a culture of performance, innovation, and accountability in the service.
According to her , the rewards and Recognition initiative, anchored on Pillar Six of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025, aims to enhance staff welfare and the value proposition for civil servants.
Oyekunle congratulated the esteemed awardees, noting that their recognition is a reward for their excellence, consistency, and commitment to duty.
She expressed hope that the honor would inspire even greater service in the years ahead.
The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Honorable Ministers, and members of the National Assembly.
