Davido, born David Adeleke, is currently in a legal battle with Sophia Momodu over the custody of their daughter, Imade Adeleke. Represented by lawyers Dr. Olaniyi Arije and Okey Barrah.

Davido is seeking joint custody of Imade through a suit marked LD/1587PMC/2024. In a 44-paragraph affidavit, Davido details his financial support for Imade, including covering all educational expenses and rent for Momodu’s residence, and even offering a N200m apartment which she rejected.

“Despite providing a Range Rover SUV for transportation, Davido alleges that Momodu claimed it was faulty without informing him, leading him to provide an additional Highlander SUV and N5.8m for repairs.”

He asserts his commitment to covering living expenses, nanny fees, healthcare, insurance, and international travel for their daughter.

” Momodu  is fond of making unreasonable demands, such as a $800 monthly salary for the nanny, totaling $19,600 per year.

Her demands have been excessive and have caused me undue hardship despite  efforts to ensure Imade’s well-being”, Davido said

He recounts an incident where he was notified by Imade’s school about her two-week absence, which he says Momodu excused without valid reasons, reflecting a pattern of behavior he finds troubling.

This court case underscores the ongoing tension between Davido and Momodu, highlighting the complexities of co-parenting and the legal struggles that can arise when custody and financial support are contested
