Delta State became the first state to officially launch the Scouts for Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria.
Scouts for SDGs is a unique strategy to engage young people in the development of their communities.
It provides them an opportunity to learn valuable skills such as courage, kindness,community service, leadership, problem solving, and brotherhood.
The event was held at West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba the capital of Delta State.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette, also received an investiture as the State Headquarters Commissioner, Scouts for SDGs Delta State.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, emphasized the state’s commitment to making SDG indicators Delta-specific by analyzing possible linkages and synergizing to localize Agenda 2030 producing a “Delta-oriented” approach for future SDG implementation.
Uduaghan who was decorated as Ambassador Scouts for SDGs, said the milestone marks a significant step forward for Delta State in its commitment to the SDGs and Governor Sheriff F.O Oborevwori’s dedication to empowering future generations.
