On Thursday, Nigerian music mogul Don Jazzy, born Michael Ajereh, ignited a wave of excitement on social media with a spontaneous act of generosity.
Responding to a viral post on X.com that encouraged users to tag a celebrity for a ₦1 million gift, a user named Adeyemi Adejoke Abidemi tagged Don Jazzy, expressing her admiration:
“Make I tag #DONJAZZY. I dey always dream about him. Happy new month sir.”
Don Jazzy replied, “Akant namba,” prompting Adeyemi to share her GTBank details. Minutes later, she received a ₦1 million credit alert. Overwhelmed, she posted:
“Jesuuuuuusssssssss, this is huge. Thank you so much for your incredible generosity. Receiving 1 million naira is beyond anything I expected, and I’m truly grateful. Your support means the world to me. God bless you abundantly sir.”
Noticing her previous balance of just ₦67.29, Don Jazzy added another ₦5 million, stating
“Amen ooo. That your akant balance is not healthy. I don add another 5 million. More blessings ma.”
Adeyemi confirmed the additional ₦5 million with a screenshot, expressing her gratitude stated
“Oluwa oo. I am deeply grateful for this extraordinary blessing. May the Almighty who used you to lift me reward you beyond measure. May your hands never lack, your heart always be at peace, and your generations forever enjoy divine favour. Thank you #DONJAZZY. May God continue to enlarge your coast.”
This act of kindness adds to Don Jazzy’s history of philanthropy. In October 2023, he donated ₦8 million to two Nigerians in need of urgent medical assistance, including ₦6 million to a female footballer requiring knee surgery and ₦2 million to a diabetic patient needing a limb amputation.
